Are we allowed to ask for prayers for our pets? [View all]
My German Shepherd is limping, and due to the upcoming storm it is not possible to get him to the vet, and even if it weren't for the storms predicted we have a shortage of emergency vets in the entire region, and none in my immediate area. He is my companion, and my protector. He is not a trained therapy dog, but he alerts me when I am getting too anxious or angry about my life or the world in general. My psychiatrist says he is likely smelling an increase of chemical smells the human body let's off when blood pressure is rising. I'd be lost without him.
Also I have a a semi feral cat who used to live in a barn on the property that several strays made their home. I fed and took care of them all. Unfortunately that barn had to be torn down due to the fact it was very old and not structurally sound. We built a shed and filled it with straw and I make sure she has food and water every day. The other cats left once the barn was gone. I have done everything I can to make sure she isn't directly exposed to the elements. I wish I could bring her in but she and the dog hate each other and while she tolerates petting she gets wild if I even try to pick her up. She has survived cold and snow before, but she's a senior now, and I worry because of the extreme cold that is predicted. Please pray she makes it through ths time too.
