and it would seem there is a cyclical nature to massive vulcanism. While we can determine the rough periodicity of individual volcanoes, we don't seem to be tracking the massive eruptions like the Siberian Traps or the Deccan Traps that devastated planetary populations when they occurred.

To assume this stuff has ended forever is a massive error.

I just hope Yellowstone holds off until I am safely dead and gone. That's one I don't want to try to live through, thanks.
