10. Islam *IS* a motherlode of bad ideas. SO is Christianity. So are nearly most major religions

If you can't see the inherent problem that religionS universally have with women, minorities, homosexuals, freedom, etc, then I have to ask if you realize you're in the Atheist/Agnostic group, where we're not too fond of people, yanno, who want us to ignore the NUMEROUS bad things in religion and focus on the very tiny minority of good things (that in no way undo the bad) that some religions do/promote.

Based on your posts, it's apparent that you're not familiar with Bill Maher, who has long been a critic of ALL religions. He's an atheist. The bad things he says about islam---he's said about Christianity. He's said about Scientology. He's said about LDS. He's not singling out Islam. He's including it in his ever-growing list of religions that treat other people awfully.

And I do know what he was going to say on the subject, because he said a mouthful about it the previous week on Real Time. I've watched Bill Maher since Politically Incorrect. I'm well aware of his views of Religion. You apparently arent.

Perhaps you'll find a more, um, sympathetic (?) audience in the Religion forum. They'll be happy to wax poetic about how wonderful Islam is (especially to gays and women). You'll not find a lot of support for hateful bigotry here.
