24. "So the creators of an object cannot be pretentious and poor craftsmen?"

Mar 2012

We can say the creators of an object failed to live up to our current standards and current tastes.

And the observer of a made object cannot correctly perceive the creator's qualities and skills?

Objective qualities can be perceived, such as being bipedal, but subjective qualities are projected, such as pretentiousness. Skills can be perceived, but judgements on those skills are subjective, and therefore projected.

The pretentiousness and crapiness comes from you, not the movie. ZombieHorde Mar 2012 #19
Does that apply to anybody who considers any movie to be pretentious and crappy? 2ndAmForComputers Mar 2012 #21
Of course. Pretentiousness and crappiness are not qualities of matter. ZombieHorde Mar 2012 #22
