The Heung bu and Nol bu fable; 흥부와 놀부 [View all]

Dr. Petersen discusses (in English) two well known Korean fables and their social significance. The Hungbu and Nolbu fable reflects protest to the change to primogeniture in Chosun according to Dr. Petersen. He also believes other famous folk tales representing social ethical principles in Chosun, such as the tale of Chunhyangjeon, are a form of social protest.
