To be clear, Sanders spend most of his time running against things. Not hope and change as some have tried to make the case for. He is running against progressive institutions, the government, and anything he can remotely describe as "establishment." That includes him foolishly calling PP a part of the establishment knowing damn well his base of support is "anti-establishment.
This campaign of fear and distrust he is running is completely counter intuitive to democratic socialism. He is promoting distrust in government, then with the few detailed plans he has, is trying to then promote a massive expansion of government. It's bizarre to say the least.
Recently, right on this board, Clinton was called manic. Yet here we have someone spending well over half their time on the trail promoting distrust in government, while glossing over the expansion of government needed to accomplish his goals. Sanders needs to stop with all of the distrust rhetoric. It's simply oppositional to progress.
All candidates do it a bit. It's a cornerstone of the Sanders campaign.
