True story, way back when I was stationed at Camp Lejeune one Marine who served breakfast found out I was also a Vermonster and asked me to wait a minute the next morning while he ran and got something. He came running back with a small bottle of pure Vermont maple syrup which was as precious 50 year old scotch back then. I can't remember ever enjoying pancakes so much.
