Even though it wasn't about that, it was a similar condition, and a good movie.

But lost the war.....

(and it made a good film "ZULU!," with Micheal Caine)

but lost the war... and it made a good film, etc etc etc.(you should have tied those two together.)

If you're going to quote a battle, you might as well be ready for the "and they won/lost that war" that is going to come right after.
