In reply to the discussion: Bernie Sanders Camp DEFENDS 'Excuse Me, I'm Talking Moment After Hillary Clinton's RUDE Interruption [View all]davidthegnome
(2,983 posts)What's wrong with him asking/telling her to stop interrupting him? Some people do indeed consider that rude. This isn't a matter of gender war, but common courtesy that has unfortunately become rather uncommon of late.
What the heck is so cringe-worthy about this? Desperate and disrespectful? "Stop interrupting me." What's wrong with that? It doesn't strike me as sexist, it doesn't strike me as bigoted, it doesn't strike me as him telling her to shut up, but rather, telling her to wait for her turn to speak - to allow him to make (or attempt to make) his point/s.
Interruptions are common enough during these debates, I suppose - but it is rude to keep interrupting a candidate who's turn it is to speak. I'm not going to make a huge deal of it, because these are the primaries... but, not seeing what Sanders did that was so terrible here.
Can someone explain to me how this is any different from what people like Chris Matthews do all the time during interviews? From discussions we see on CNN, Fox, MSNBC and elsewhere where who ever is speaking is often rudely interrupted and asks/demands that people stop interrupting them? What's so desperate and disrespectful about this? Wasn't Clinton being disrespectful by repeatedly interrupting him?
I don't get it.
