I cannot add to your powerful statement except to say that I concur. I joined the Green Party in 2008. I live in Florida and, even though a Sanders Campaign volunteer called me to ask if I'd change my affiliation in order to vote in the primary, I had to decline.

I knew that I could change it again for the general. The Supervisor of Elections in my county is a Democrat and generally does a fine job in promoting equanimity in the process. Even so, I couldn't bring myself to switch (and I have donated multiple times to the Sanders campaign).

On the bright side, because Sanders barely contested Florida, if I had swallowed my integrity and switched, it would not have mattered.

Our democracy is a debacle and a Clinton presidency would not fix this most urgent problem.
