(5,636 posts)... I think that's what the superdelegate model is about. They will most likely side en masse with the winner. That said, if Sanders should manage to actually win among the elected delegates, it's possible the superdelegates would still not back him because (1) he basically accepts that (indicating that if he was behind in delegates, he would lobby superdelegates to switch, (2) he's not a real Democrat, just opportunistically (and wisely) using the Democratic Party for strategic reasons, and (3) he might not be loyal to the superdelegates, who are largely establishment Democrats. If the superdelegates betray the voters, it could get ugly, but if Hillary is leading even by one, they will vote en masse for her, and the Bernie supporters might be angry, but they will accept the results.
