In reply to the discussion: If Hillary has it in the bag, why would she risk upsetting/alienating Bernie supporters? [View all]Armstead
(47,803 posts)58. Forgive me for butting in, but I'm going to butt in
She doesn't support fracking, she supports local determinations on it, including approval only if the fracking meets a bunch of criteria that it rarely does.
Why not just ban it, but allow exceptions if a proposal is proven absolutely safe? Her approach strikes me as waffling in favor of fracking by making it possible as a by-right activity....Sounds trivial but makes a difference when it gets down to greedy zoning boards or state governments.
death penalty--you're mad at her for supporting the death penalty?
I am. I think it is morally wrong.
She's not going to lie to you and say we can enact single payer on the federal level right away--Bernie Sanders told us in 2010 that it had to begin on the state level and not in Washington DC.
Totally disagree with that. I would prefer any president set that as a goal NOW and fight like hell for it....and keep fighting like hell for it as long as necessary....even if it means "incremental" public option as a step. And even if the GOP votes it down. SELL THE DAMN IDEA AND ACTUALLY MEAN IT!.
$15 very well may be too high for some areas with low wages and cost of living. If you think someone is a big meanie for holding that opinion, then the obvious retort is "why don't you support a $30/hour minimum wage for the nation?"
The national minimum wage is a floor. But $15 is the minimum livable wage these days -- and unless it is national we will have areas keeping it low to attract cheapskate employers.
She is bad on Israel/Palestine, unfortunately that's also the mainstream position.
I agree, except I think the public does get frustrated with Israel's overreactions and intransigence sometimes.
I disagree with her on Glas-Steagall, but her overall wall street regulation plan is actually pretty good. And you can even get transcripts.
Her plan is basically what Bernie is saying, ex cept with a lot more words.

Don't vote. Vote for Trump. I am damn tired of Sanders supporters holding vote up as hostage.
