56. disastrous special elections on gay marriage.

I don't think that stupid thing would've won if it had been on a regular election ballot.

It was deliberately put on a primary ballot that liberals didn't have to vote in because Obama was the candidate already. Had it been on the ballot for this election, it might not have squeaked by.

Besides, it was a useless waste of time and money.... something the new conservative state legislature is now known for. And it will get struck down if someone challenges it in court.

It also may be a factor in the huge Dem turnout and registration here.
