83. I defended nothing

I simply disagreed with your idea that this was akin to a major overnight 'world event'. And thought it was a prime example of how off-the-rails the convo here has gotten.

I do not think it is a problem that Bernie didn't 'deal with it' until this morning. The guy who said it apologized last night. This morning Bernie made it clear that such language is not okay in his campaign. In a sane world, that would be the end of the story in this context.

Sexism is a serious issue, and the use of the word whore in any context is arguably inappropriate. As a woman I think serious conversations do need to be had about the use of such words to dismiss people, especially women, in politics or anywhere else. Word choice matters. I would prefer specific and precise language to inflammatory language. However, no serious, intellectually honest conversation is being had here in GDP about that. All there is is opportunistic, partisan mud-slinging. So don't front about that, because I'm not playing.

So Bernie shouldn't have apologized? nt onehandle Apr 2016 #1
