2016 Postmortem
In reply to the discussion: Just an observation before going to bed ... [View all]Betty Karlson
(7,231 posts)16. Certainy: Clinton's pathway to victory has dramatically narrowed,
and her road of inevitability is closed by now. Besides: polls have shown her dismal chances in the GE (she alone seems to be losing to ALL GOP candidates, even to Trumpm in hypothetic match-ups) and so she must be worried about that small trickle of superdelegates that publicly demonstrate willingness to support Bernie, change sides (a handful so far) etcetera. Her hold over them is fear (the Clinton enemy list). What if all her minions suddenly decide that if they collectively support the better candidate, Clinton won't be in a position to hurt them anymore, and her whole hold over them vanishes together with her chance to serve Goldman Sachs and make some more millions?

They do seem pretty nervous, begging Bernie to drop out, twisting the math, whatever it takes

Yep... Were she to win Indiana, they'd have been likely able to shift DU into GE mode.

Like Obama did, on Clinton, in 2008. Clinton had NOOOOOOOO chance to win then.

I think a flippant, insincere response to a flippant, insincere query is wholly appropriate.

Perhaps they can't stand the thought that we genuinely think there is a better candidate?
