(325 posts)And you're still blaming Bernie, then there clearly would need to be a LOT more soul-searching in the Democratic party. If Hillary loses and the blame somehow goes to Bernie supporters, that would be really sad. People are supporting Bernie because she's not acting in a way that's healing the rift, and if she pivots even more right for the general she might alienate them even further.
The main scary bit is the supreme court - which really is a problem, but still, having motivation to vote for someone besides fear is crucial. Hillary has a large number of policy positions which I extremely dislike, and I very much dislike how she's campaigned and her general conduct. Of course it would be better to have a Democrat in the oval office, but when it has been made it so clear that I'm not wanted, it's very easy to throw up my hands and say "well fine, screw you too!"
While that sentiment is a bit childish, I think there's a lot of truth in the fact that the party is going to have to move more left in the future, and getting those voices in now is crucial. Hillary would be a lot more palatable to me personally if she made more concessions... Something convincing, not just throwaway campaign rhetoric.
