How does me saying that the election from 1968 has little in common with the election today mean that I don't think any two things can be compared? The country then and now is so radically different that you might as well be comparing two different countries all together. I realize that this is one of the talking points the Clinton crowd throws out, but you'd have to actually prove that the contexts are comparable. Now, me saying they aren't (because they aren't) doesn't mean that you can't ever compare something to something. I would argue that the country is so different politically, socially, environmentally, that we might as well draw lessons from the 1900 election.
