(23,664 posts)First of all I do not trust Feinstein as far as I could throw her. She's saying this now so when Hillary comes out with her latest excuse, she (Feinstein) can pretend to be satisfied that the matter is closed.
Secondly, I trust Clinton even less than I trust Feinstein. She can pretend to be reluctant to talk about this because she doesn't want to feed her subordinates to the wolves. Then, when she actually throws them to the wolves, she can pretend that she was forced to do so by public opinion.
The problem is there are a lot of unknown knowns here. Nobody knows what the FBI has uncovered, both as regards the security of the server, and what the emails reveal about the connections between the State Department, private contractors, foreign governments and the Clinton foundation.
The DNC is taking a lot on faith now because they really have no choice. As time wears on, nerves will fray, the pressure will increase and somebody will break. The longer the process drags on, the worse the ultimate result will be for Clinton, the DNC, and maybe for America.
