Their own post-mortem on 2012 was that they could not win the presidency with essentially a 'whites-only' campaign strategy - that they had to appeal more to women and minorities who are not part of the natural republican base.

Donald is trying to prove that post-mortem was wrong and that a 'whites-only' (largely, not totally, of course) will work at least on last time before demographics consume their party. I don't see how it works for Donald so I think our chances are good. But we have to take him very seriously because demagogues are great campaigners even when their actual policies - to the extent he has any - really suck and they would make horrible presidents.
