In reply to the discussion: Trump said "big percentages of the Bernie people are going to vote for Trump" [View all]nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)Why would he even say that (And for the record less than he believes will vote for him)
There is anger in the country, at the political establishment. He is running a classic outsider campaign at this point. Hell he has from the beginning. Why do you think he got that nomination? (Mind you, people here did not take him seriously, and still don't)
But while I expect the number of Bernie supporters to be lower than he expects, (much lower actually) you know which group I expect to cross in large numbers? After all they did it for Bush and Reagan... conservadems History is indeed prologue
What I do expect is more than a few Bernie supporter to sit it out. I also expect them to leave politics in large swaths, especially the young ones. Myself I could care less at this point, The way the system has revealed itself. I am back at home, in Mexico, where who I vote for is determined by who counts the votes.
Congrats, because I am not alone, The system is increasingly seen as not legitimate.
Oh and as to those conservadems, I know a few. They will vote for Clinton in June to stop the commie, realize average age is 65 in that crowd, and they will vote for Trump in November, They make no bones about it. They cannot stand her. They remember the 1990s... and for at least one, it is a morality thing.
