(1,947 posts)Naked Capitalism (of which I am a regular reader) over time. The quandary I have is this: we currently are facing a nexus of unprecedented environmental, economic, and geo-political crises that can only be addressed by coordinated international action--and I think these are considerably more acute than is suggested by the discourse on NC.
Neither of the leading candidates has a record suggesting that they would offer the leadership we need: Trump is a crude, narcissistic, spoiled brat whose potential policies are impossible to determine from his erratic rhetoric; and Clinton, whatever her rhetoric, has a record of pushing the neoliberal policies, enforced by military action that are making things worse. Given that the absence of constructive action on issues like climate change, wealth inequality and neo-colonial economic relationships is going to result in enormous pain, destruction, and social chaos in some places, maybe even in the US, how can I use my vote to make things better?
