2016 Postmortem

and so accept it as good, safe & sensible;
in time coming to believe it's one's own, one's
own true convictions;
on it trickles trickles a little bit here into the school system,
a little bit there into the whole foods,
a little bit here into the newpapers, a little bit into tv,
a little more, a little trickle, trickle trickle nearly everywhere
and so familar now it feels like home to some
accepting comfortably their assigned boxes
(sensible, for keeping things tidy).
many like to make their own comfy boxes,
so as to be a good contributing citizen, and allow the
trickle to carry on, and
(it especially loves to snack on fear,
and can generate it when it needs a snack)
It trickles here and there through every system in every
town trickles into us and through our brains,
an invisible river of dust leaves things just a bit more dull
Till it trickles up to an honest and fearless person
but has to find another way around, it can't go through.
The story is: there never was an honest fearless person,
that never really happened.
Not wanting to waste resources, we think about this as
little as possible, and conclude it's likely true. There never
was that person.
This is comforting to know, and more than a little boring!
