27. I have friends who are...

Jun 2016

Passionate and dyed in the wool Bernie supporters. However, they are ALL with the exception of a few going to vote for Hillary Clinton no matter what. And as you said, if there are Sanders supporters who won't vote for Hillary as is their RIGHT. Like I say, not every Bernie supporter will vote for Hillary, and some will probably write in Bernie's name or sit this upcoming election out. But going by what MY set of friends tell me, and for them, putting this nations fortunes in the hands of a bigoted, racist, homophobic-leaning malcontent like Trump would spell disaster. I know that if Hillary weren't the Dem nominee and If Bernie were somehow incapacitated, I'd vote for him in a heartbeat over Trump. To have a Pres. Trump on performing on the world stage would be disastrous and embarrassing beyond belief and when we've been together in social settings, us Bernie/Hillary friends & their children have never had one cross word between us I know SHOCKING. Plus, we've never put down each others Presidential candidates. But that's how we roll. Not all Bernie supporters are "hideous" people as I've seen described, and not all Hillary supporters are "hideous" people as I've seen them described. But hey, maybe I'm lucky enough to be around people who understand the "bigger picture," in that if we have a Hillary in the White House for a few years, it will eventually lead to the change that we all want as in getting rid of gross pieces of legislation like Citizens United, while at the same time keeping and strengthening the gains we've fought for and in some cases died for such as in Civil/voting legislation, abortion rights legislation, and a whole host of other extremely important gains we've made via the Supreme Court IE:Marriage Equality Legislation. Can you IMAGINE if Donald Trump got his hands on the Supreme Court and packed it with "activist" justices who have racist, sexist, anti-worker, anti-LGBT mind-sets like Anton Scalia--who Trump says he loves? Who would want to sit back and watch 20-30 or MORE years of great legislative gains we've made over decades and quite recently wiped out in a matter of 4 years which is what COULD happen if Trump had the Senate at his disposal, as they'd "rubber-stamp" every Scalia-type appointee Trump would send up for a conformation hearing. As for the Congress. Many who are are certifiable, and that's putting it mildly. I mean, look at the likes of a Louie Ghomert for starters, and we've seen Ted Cruz's handiwork up close and personal in the primaries and we know he would love to shut down the government.

Lord, truly a house of horrors and extremely scary indeed, and most of my friends and their children who are Bernie supporters want ANY PARTS of that nightmare from HELL scenario if they can help it
