(22,279 posts)..you missed the part about this being a Democrat-centric Website, whose primary purpose for the next 5 months is to see that a Democrat ends up in the White House, rather than the foaming man possum with a bad combover.
Look, I just posted what I consider to be my last word on this in another thread.
Clinton and Sanders met last night for two hours. The end result was not an endorsement from Sanders. The reason for that is that he wants her to "take steps to win his confidence before the Democratic convention," and that...is...not...going...to...happen.
She's not going to be taking any steps, and he's not going to endorse her. Elvis has left the building.
That is my closure.
No matter what I think of Bernie Sanders (and I am a supporter), the "presumptive nominee" is not obligated to "take steps" to appease the person who did not secure the nomination. Life...and politics in particular...just doesn't work that way.
On the other hand, if Sanders gave an endorsement last night, there is no way in hell that 100% of his supporters would have gotten behind that, no freaking way.
So good for Clinton. She's sticking to her agenda. And good for Sanders. He's sticking to his.
That's it, the great "sore winners / sore losers / "Call it, Skinner" debate is over for me.
My first choice was to have Sanders as the nominee. That didn't happen.
My second choice was to have things exactly where they are now.
If anyone else needs "closure," and they're not on board with what I laid out in the first paragraph, this is probably not going to be a particularly welcoming site as of tomorrow. This is not a "free speech zone." It's a private Website owned by individuals who have the right to set the tone of what appears here, and right now that tone is Clinton versus Trump, with all efforts going toward making sure that Trump goes down in defeat.
But cute kitten pictures are still welcome in the Lounge. Just sayin'...
