Dissent is disunity and leads to a loss...we lost in 1968. What followed was hardly 'democracy'. Attacking Democrats and that is what is happening in Philly...leads to GOP victories which in this case given the age of the Supreme Court justices would destroy progressive politics and possibly 'democracy' for a generation. Democracy might not even survive Comrade Heil Trump. He reminds me of those who ran for election once and then became presidents for life. And this so called 'democracy' in action is disrespectful to Hillary Clinton voters: many who are POC. We won the primary, and it was not stolen. She had more votes. And to boo Elijah Cummings...was just beyond the pale. Most in that hall are not fit to lick his boots.

"Dissent" implies participation within a discussion. Shouting down anyone you don't like?

It's a shit-show thanks to Sanders' delegates not letting anyone speak without protesting.

Yes, 1860 and 1968 were crazy conventions, too. Those didn't go well for the country.

Wasn't the argument of the entire Sanders campaign that the country is not working right now?

The 1860 convention was a shitshow that led directly to the Civil War and 600,000 dead.

The roll call of delegates is a holdover from when voters didn't get to select the delegates.
