The liberals on the court will want to light one up, the conservatives will fall back on state's rights.
Win-win.
It's not the sixties, but media hatchet jobs on candidates have been happening since the third POTUS took office. If HRC didn't fire up a j up in Wellesley College in her youth, I'd be surprised. Could she admit it nowadays? The media would have her mainlining heroin in the combat zone by the time they got through.
But hey, keep flogging this issue like it's a deal breaker. It's not. You just explained why in your post. The states are going to carry this shit over the finish line--the federal government will bring up the rear.
And like I said, I support legalization. Not "medical mj." Not "decriminalization." I think anyone of legal age should be permitted to walk into the weed store and buy themselves some weed. I think it should be taxed, not robustly, but well enough, like most "sin" taxes on booze and cigarettes. I think the handy people with green thumbs should be allowed to grow themselves some weed. I think people should just back the hell off and away from people who want to smoke their weed.
Leave 'em be. Legalize it.
But I can see why HRC dances around the issue--not everyone realizes it's harmless. They'll learn, eventually, but they aren't there quite yet.
