I was alluding to one of those awkward times when President-elect Hillary deviated from her script and got herself in trouble, claiming that when she and Bill left the White House, they were "not only dead broke, but in debt."
Politifact determined that Hillary's claim was "mostly false."
RufusTFirefly concluded that like many such statements, although it may have had a grain of truth to it, from the standpoint of people who truly struggle economically, it was utterly tone deaf.
