(62,325 posts)can link to the reaction if you like. There really isn't any doubt about it.
This time, they started again, playing the race card. It was not Sanders or his surrogates or supporters who started this nasty race-baiting, but we will respond to the lies, something they didn't expect to happen so forcefully. We've all learned that when Super Pacs and political operatives start smear campaigns, the worse thing that can be done is to ignore them.
That isn't going to happen in this campaign. They want to play dirty politics they can expect to be thoroughly exposed and if possible with enough investigative journalists paying attention this time, we can actually find out who is behind each one of them.
It's their choice, Sanders wants a campaign on the ISSUES and so do the American people.
But if they don't, if attempting to smear their opponents is what they want, then they better not whine when they face exposure.
Hillary can send her supporters a message, as O'Malley did when a Super Pac attacked Bernie on his behalf. He condemned and made it clear it was done without his permission.
Hillary hasn't done that, so whether or not she is actually involved isn't the issue. She KNOWS what her Super Pacs and supporters have been doing and she has remained silent about it.
I respect O'Malley for acting quickly to stop anyone engaging in smears on his behalf and since then there has been nothing more like that.
It's up to her to end it. If she doesn't she owns it. But the American people are sick to death of this nasty game of smearing opponents and distracting from the issues. And if they don't like people talking about, Brock eg, who thought he keep his ID secret, then it's simple, don't do it.
