4. The stories of the domestic violence

in Castro's history are chilling. If such brutal crimes were treated more seriously, perhaps those three girls in Cleveland would have been spared a decade of horror.

It is refreshing to see some police take domestic violence more seriously. Too often law enforcement treats such cases as trivial and inconvenient, even though they can escalate to murder or murder/suicide. Some of the most horrendous stories we've heard, could have been prevented if early reports of domestic violence had been treated as real crimes, punishable by prison time.
