13. Click on "My Profile" at the top of this page..you'll see "Avatar" then click on "Edit"

and then it will show you categories of different types of avatars
Click on a category, then click on the avatar you want, and that should give you an avatar.
(That "shadow" has nothing to do with being a male or female)

Or, you can upload your own avatar in the "My Profile" section
