2. We are a fickle bunch here at DU...

We are inconsistent, and often knee-jerkish.
We can be nasty and short-sighted, we can be generous and forgiving.
We can be goofy, we can be silly, we can be mean-spirited.

I wouldn't take it personally, I would let it go at this point.

Sometimes you'll get away with being trollish, sometimes you'll get innocent posts removed due to a misunderstanding. DU isn't quite as anything-goes as the internet at large, there are things that will not stand at all, ever. However, sometimes things that shouldn't stand are allowed to because of our fickleness. In your case I would chalk it up to humans being imperfect creatures, and move on. There are worse things in life than being called a troll by some anonymous poster on some internet discussion forum. Maybe the jury didn't get this one right. It's not really a big deal in the scheme of things...
