Why is there a 10-post minimum before starting a thread? [View all]

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't hard to find ten interesting threads to reply on. But being a newb, I kinda wanted to hang out for awhile, lay low, not make a fuss. But I really want to post an article I read today.

Oh, yes, of course The name's Melvin, but I shortened it to Mel in grade school so as to get beaten up less. Just got back from studying in Australia. G'day! (Well, it's actually 4 AM, but I'm still readjusting to California time.)
