I don't know the actual rationale behind that rule but I would suspect it is to minimize disruptions to threads by angry posters.

Yes, the jury system can and has been used by some to shut down opposition (and in fact I have seen alerts where the altering poster completely misrepresents what the accused poster said in order to get a hide from inattentive jurors); but, ultimately you are responsible for your own posts. If you don't want to get locked out of a thread make doubly sure there is nothing objectionable in your post.

That said, if you want to make a suggestion to the admins for a change you are in the wrong forum. You should make a thread here instead.

I suspect the admins will tell you that they are happy with the jury system and have no intention of changing things, but its possible you could change their minds.
