Bernie Sanders

(344 posts)It has been painful to see so many people on this site become so divided, and to me, full of hate. I like both Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. I want a Democrat in the White House next year. The Republican candidates are terrifying to me. Do we want our country to go backwards again? The Republicans constantly knock Hillary. So many Democrats are doing the same. When we hear something over and over again, we start to believe it.
I am one of those members who reads this site everyday, although, I rarely comment. However, this site helped me feel like I belonged to a group who felt the same way I did about the direction of our country. Who gets elected this year does matter. Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders are a 1000 times better than any Republican, especially Trump or Cruz. To not vote out of anger if Bernie does not get the nod on the Democratic ticket does matter. Maybe if some of you had to endure years with a son who came back disabled from the unnecessary war, you would realize elections really do matter. I am not angry at Hillary for voting for the war. Bush/Cheney/Powell lied to us. My late father, a career Marine and veteran of 3 wars, was against the Iraq War, but he said that Gen. Powell would never do anything to hurt the troops. We all know know now that we were all fed a bunch of lies, but I don't condemn Hillary or Kerry or the others who had to make that decision. I honestly believe that they thought they were doing the right thing back then based on Gen. Powell.
I voted for President Obama twice, but I would have voted for Hillary Clinton if she had been the nominee. Hillary may not be the perfect candidate in some ways, but to become so angry that you would be willing to turn our country back to the likes of these racist, hateful, self-righteous hypocrites is unfathomable to me.
