Bernie Sanders

(25,856 posts)While I love Bernie, I am not that optimistic about his chances of being the general election nominee. If you and other progressive Dems don't vote for Hillary, you are in effect voting for Rubio, Trump, Cruz or whoever. YOU and they will have sold our nation down the drain in search of the perfect or near perfect. I guarantee you that Bernie will support and vote for Hillary if he's not the candidate. Why wouldn't you? I get HRC is too inclined to go along with the war machine and too corporatist, but compared to the Repugs, she's a total dove and populist. Repugs get you the end of minimum wage, end of ACA, end of women being able to control their lives, end of the middle class, RW SCOTUS. Also, outsourcing will leap forward and businesses and the rich will pay even less in taxes and the poor will pay more.
I can't live with that world, so I will do whatever I can to make it not happen, including voting for HRC in the general, if it comes to that. Bernie's definitely getting my vote in the primary as he's by far the best option. However, we don't often get to vote for the best. Hope this time is different.
