(14,255 posts)finally sent me an obnoxious private message. I saw no need to even recognize their existence after that. after all, the same disjointed list of polls and utterances, post after post, gets really old.
A couple of weeks ago, it seemed to me that a lot of posters were only posting crap designed to needle. I am sure the crap was meant to dishearten - but, dudes, this is an internet message board, the stuff meant to dishearten is so easily recognizable it is kind of funny, really. And then there was the sheer nasty stuff, which made me think oh, I hope I don't know any of these people in real life! ugh.
I used to feel like that stuff was amusing, but it got boring - the nasty stuff, the verbose and condescending stuff, the authoritarian stuff, the dollar-store psychoanalytic stuff, the dementedly repetitious stuff - and I just thought well, no matter how many times I read it, I will still think it is crap, so why keep reading it? And, really, Hillary is Hillary, records are records, deeds are deeds, issues are issues - and since I am never going to feel war and fracking are GOOD, and I will never support someone whose policies are distasteful to me, just because of their gender, I thought why even keep reading the bullshit?
So now, full ignore is wondrous, and I am absolutely certain I am not missing anything but pointless blather. I was astounded that they believed what they were spouting. Time to say see ya.
Adding something here - one thing I did get from the ugliness was the realization that just maybe the Democratic Party has morphed into something else. There seems to be a mean junior high mentality to it, and this is supposed to be something that helps people and makes their lives better, not threats and jeers and insults. So lots of thinking to do about that.
