(9,688 posts)I was replying to your OP! It was kind of an abstract question about a forum option.
I related my experiences with using the gadget and that after having used the 'ignore' gadget I stopped (tho' I have a handful of people on 'ignore PMs' - I have a zero tolerance policy there).
Read back to my first reply.
I know who the assholes are, on DU - the trolls.
The ones who couldn't talk policy, issues, for the life of them.
The ones who follow their leader in saying that a $12/hr minimum wage is more "realistic" and "pragmatic" than the $15/hr demanded by the recent employee uprisings, and who would roll back California and New York, apparently, for just now legislating $15/hr. That couldn't be "real", to them. The fuckers. They're so unthinking. So regressive that they can't even keep up with today.
But I've been reading and contributing to DU for a long time before these absurd primaries, with the absurd "inevitable establishment candidate" Hillary Clinton. I don't have to actually *read* a person's post, if they aren't on ignore, and I often don't, when at the same time I scroll down and look for responses from people who I admire somewhat. I know most of these posters' usernames from years of acquaintance. There are a few of them who post to promote Hillary Clinton who I still admire and enjoy reading, though they are few and far between. A problem with my discussing anything with them is the "Ostrich Syndrome", where I can't even mention that a million dead Arabs paid for war profits that kept the US war economy going, in large part through Hillary's doing. And on part of her friends. But I don't imagine that kind of conversation could ever happen on DU, anyway.
