(Not reposting this to be self-serving, but because my response applies directly to this 0P.)

I am a 55-year-old man. I live in Ohio, where we did participate in the expansion of Medicaid. I was downsized out of a good career in the name of higher stockholder returns. After two years of jobhunting, with an exceptional resume, a college education, and exemplary work history - The best job I was able to find pays just enough that I don't qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to afford a reasonable plan through the ACA. I would be paying $75 a week in premiums with the $6000 deductible, which I would never meet, because my health is very good. The problem with the ACA is that it is still driven by the goddamn profit motives of the greedy insurance industry. It is immoral to profit off of the suffering of our fellow citizens. Period. Private health insurance is an unnecessary evil, and must be eliminated.
