It can be a discouragement and hurt turnout.

I'm not saying it's the only factor, but it's a serious consideration. Right we don't want Margaret Thatcher just because she's female, but at the same time if there is a strong progressive woman in national politics, she should be on the short list for VP. And people of color too.

But anyways we're seriously putting the cart before the horse here LOL.
