(9,116 posts)What is a "passionately angry" response? What is the objectively appropriate response in a situation such as this?
I'm not sure these terms are useful, practically speaking. I'm not mad at Joe Biden. I'm not angry. I don't dislike Joe Biden. Joe Biden the person seems like a decent guy. But Joe Biden the politician made a boneheaded gaffe, and just because he's on my team doesn't mean he's beyond reproach. FWIW, Biden immediately realized he'd gaffed and apologized, which I think was the right move.
Also, this is Joe Biden we're talking about here. No matter how dear to us he might be, we can't deny that he's been a walking gaffe machine for the past twenty or so years at the very least. This isn't the first time his mouth has made trouble for him and I doubt it is going to be the last. Still, he's made it this far. I don't think we need to worry about people "attacking" him.
