As we move closer to actual caucuses and primaries, the story will become clearer and the rhetoric will become harsher.
The reality is that there are 24 candidates in the primary race. Many of them appeal to the same groups who supported Sanders in 2016, but who are now supporting other challengers. That's cutting into Bernie's poll results, and probably into his votes in the primaries and caucuses.
Meanwhile, a stable, well-known, and well-liked Democratic candidate is polling at double-digit higher numbers than anyone else. That's not surprising. People are signalling that they want a known quantity to run against Trump in 2020.
I predict that will not change and that Biden will continue to hold a commanding lead in the polls and will carry that lead right through the primaries.
