The party is changing, yes, we are moving more left as the years go by, but if things go according to history as many of the ultra progressives in our party age, their politics will change as well. Some will remain where they were at 20, others will become a bit more moderate, a few will go nuts and change to Republicans.
No political party candidate will satisfy everyone in the party. What it comes down to, especially now, is who comes closest to my values and who will not destroy our country. Almost always for people here on DU it will be the Democrat, but as we saw in 2016, many in our party felt the need to stay home and it was devastating.
I don't want our party held hostage again by a very small group of people who will only vote for "their candidate". I wish we could be that "pure" but we can't and win anything.
