(42,862 posts)I can't be "respectful" to anyone who denigrates the Democratic party by saying it's "the party of the elite" or "the party of the one-percent". It serves no good purpose for anyone to state that the Democratic party is "corrupt" or "feeble" or "ideologically bankrupt".
How can I "respect" anyone who intentionally does harm to the party with the claims that there's "no difference between Democrats and the GOP"?? These things are false. They're harmful. They are divisive and they weaken the party.
All I'm saying is that anything that weakens the Democratic party is something that benefits the GOP... and Trump... and Russia.
At this important juncture, we need to be doing everything we can to convince voters to come out and vote FOR Democrats... to support, donate and volunteer FOR Democrats. If people start to believe that there's "no difference" in the parties, then what incentive do they have to even bother to come out and vote?
It's just that people have to EARN my respect. I don't give it automatically just because someone has a "title" or an "office".
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
