Democratic Primaries

(7,277 posts)30. Yes. "appease" is a bit sour.
My point is, I guess, Trump's strategy is to get out his base. The first priority of Democrats has to be getting out the base. The conventional strategy of toning it down, moving to the center in the GE, is not relevant this time - the strategy in the primaries & the GE is basically the same - Get Democrats out to vote. (EDIT: If I was arguing Joe Biden's case, I would say, it is the depth of his support with African Americans, Moderates and Unions that is more important than his wider appeal. Playing down unions in the GE this time would be a mistake IMO).
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided

Higher African American turnout in PA would have moved that out of his column

No policies will "appeal" to them. They must be approached from a stance of dominance.

Don't have to appease to not cede the vote. For instance, Dems have not courted rural voters, do

Sure, but 33% if white men (not college grads) are important to us to fight for.
