I don't know why you're so invested in arguing that this was nothing more than a rhetorical tactic. Other Biden supporters have accepted that that's all it was. And the fact that you can't name any of these "really good Republicans" suggests that you also know that it's nothing more than a rhetorical tactic.
But instead of admitting that, you've resorted to the truly ridiculous argument that "this was at a fundraiser, therefore what he said has nothing to do with appealing to voters." I don't know what's more absurd, that or your mentioning Mike Gallagher as an example of a "really good Republican." I'm flabbergasted.
