(4,558 posts)Maybe its just me, but if everyone in my family died in months due to shitty coverage, I wouldnt be so damned happy about my own coverage.. one that is tied to my employment.
I guess you should also be happy that it wasnt actually you with the disease, causing you to lose your job and your coverage had the disease afflicted yourself instead of your spouse.
I also have excellent coverage from my employer.
I am very thankful that I havent had the need to really test the extent of it as of this time for either myself or my husband.
I still champion an improved healthcare system because I realize that its not just about me, and I realize that having my excellent coverage tied to my employment still leaves me at risk for just 1 debilitating accident, one cancer, one heart disease, one kidney failure, or one any other major medical affliction away from losing both my income and said coverage.
Perhaps, if we get the right numbers elected to have the Senate and the House and the Executive, whichever program does get passed wouldnt just still have the love of your life alive, but would also have some of her family that is now deceased due to not having the coverage still around.
We can 100% say that there is no Republican plan that would have saved her family.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
