(12,635 posts)The electoral college is where the election will be won or lost. We should have all learned that lesson after 2016 where Hillary racked up nearly 3 million extra votes but lost due to approx 80,000 votes spread across MI, WI, and PA. If we don't win the Rust Belt states, we'll be staring at the same disaster compounded by the damage Trump and his cronies have already done.
This isn't rocket science. Those Rust Belt states going Blue is the difference between success and failure. Policy and programs are secondary to winning. All our candidates offer a liberal vision for America with varying ways of getting there. But only the candidate who can pick up what we lost last time out will beat Trump. We have to dismiss the fairytale that anyone or anything (ham sandwich, for instance) can beat this sucker. It's simply not true and sings us a lullaby that 2020 is wrap for Democrats and that all candidates are up to the task.
Every poll indicates Joe Biden can take Trump to the woodshed and beat the living daylights out of him.
That is why I support him. In addition, he's the most qualified candidate on the roster.
Winning in 2020 is EVERYTHING.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
