(42,862 posts)It really doesn't matter if his "fans" like him even more or not. I think what's most important is for everyone to acknowledge that his hardcore fans (as before) will likely sit-out the general election because they've indicated that holding a grudge is more important... their vanity and ego is more important... than doing everything possible to defeat the GOP. Just ask Sarandon and Cusack. Both of them are idiots.
Rather than demanding an "adult conversation" in an effort to squelch my sharp and biting sarcasm... how about instead demanding adult behavior from his "fans" who have proven themselves to be unreliable voters and who seem to share his contempt for the Democratic party. They'll make only the minimal effort to support Democrats or the party. They won't even register as Democrats, but they will be among the loudest complainers when they discover (to their great woefully under-informed shock) that in closed-primary states, they aren't allowed to participate in party activities.
I've often argued that, for our time and GOTV effort, we would be much more successful in getting NEW voters than to waste an inordinate amount of time trying to validate the hurt feelings and egos of his "fans" (who still won't vote anyway, but who'll no doubt enjoy the attention).
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
