Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: Hillary Clinton's candid review of Bernie Sanders... [View all]Lots of people have said many things about Hillary, Biden and every other candidate. I assume because someone said Hillary or Joe are liars it does not make them liars. And before you object, know that this is not my point. I am just using her as an example to show that just cause a person has a public perception or some people have negative interactions with a person it is proof that that is who they are. Do you believe Hillary is a liar and untrustworthy just because that is her general perception and certainly many people who have dealt with her have said that. I don't.
You seem to think that because Barny Frank at some point (probably after 2016 although I don't know that) said he could not work with him or didn't like him that makes if fact. Similarly, you quote a news paper editor. Other than that is just your own assertion that that is who he is.
My wife is a sweet person for most of the world but there are people that don't like her. It would be no proof that she is not nice just cause some people don't like her. And you give this credence to the candidates you support. Hillary factually had high negatives in the general public on her trustworthiness. However, you don't just accept that nor should you.
Now historically, I am 62 years old and have been political for all of my life and know that in my experience that prior to 1982 no harsh words were ever spoken about Bernie in democratic circles. No one envisioned that he would be a national figure or president because he was a strong leftist but all the accusations you throw at him were not historically public.
All the criticisms of Bernie started in 2016 when he had the effrontery to run for President against a candidate cleared for take off by the establishment democrats and even then he was appreciated as showing some other candidates until it turned out that rather than just being there for issues, her problems with negative perceptions were so deep (deserved or undeserved) pushed him from minor to an actual candidate. If Hillary did not have the problems with negatives and had not acted with help to clear her path to the nomination, his candidacy would probably not have taken off and he would still be a universally loved person in democratic circles.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
