11. Dr. Christine Blasey Ford gave a similar reason for her timing sharing what happened with Kavenaugh

As long as Kavenaugh remained where he was on the bench she remained silent. When it became apparent he was about to be nominated to the highest court in the land she felt she could no longer hold onto the secret she had been living with. That is a political reason for coming forward in the nonpartisan sense of that word, and it is also a plausible explanation for why Flores spoke up now. When the alleged encounter occurred Biden was a Vice President serving out the rest of his term who did not enter the competition to run for President himself in 2016. With Biden now giving every indication that he is about to announce his candidacy for President in 2020, the parallel to Dr. Ford's decision making process becomes plausible.

I have no way to know the truth yet and little reason to guess. Even in the worst light possible the allegation against Biden is nowhere in the same league as that made against Kavenaugh. And right now it is just based on the (I am willing to believe genuine) reaction of one woman to what may well have been an entirely innocent (even if perhaps not careful enough) personal interaction.

I am not jumping to any conclusion. Not against Flores, not against Biden.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
